The Yosef & Kristina Ksirrer Rehabilitation Day Care Center
shikum01.jpgThe organization's Home Care Center is already a well-established fact. Here, dozens of people arrive every day, and leave one step ahead on the road to rehabilitation. It's enough to take a peek at the Day Care Center in order to see that this is not just another rehabilitation center. This is a place where people invest their heart and soul to achieve the goal, i.e. to restore these patients to the cycle of life, the cycle of productive activity.

Sheila and Nurit Harshoshanim are utterly dedicated to their work, investing endless efforts, together with the professional staff and the auxiliary help, to create the necessary relaxing and supportive atmosphere. The organization management contributes to the special ambianace, by responding to each and every request of the day care center directors; after all, they all share the same goal.

A modest dedication ceremony was held, naming the center after Mr. Yosef and Mrs. Kristina Ksirrer o.b.m. The ceremony was attended by members of the steering committee Professor Yitzchak Suari, Dr. Michal Zeltner, Mr. Shaer Hollander and Mr. Danny Gubernick, as well as public figures and friends of the organization.

During the ceremony, the name of the extended Wiesel family was also mentioned, being among the first sponsors of this rehabilitation center, along with our friends Mr. Shmuel and Mr. Zvi Meitar's special fund , the distinguished Mrs. Tieberger  and her mother, Mr. Eitan Wertheimer and other friends, whose substantial contributions helped us in the establishment of this rehabilitation center,  its development and current upkeep, which to date has no funding from any formal body.

The participation of the National Insurance Institute Fund for Development of Services for the Handicapped was also mentioned, along with that of the Holocaust Survivors' Claims Conference, the General Administrator, and many others whose generous support made it possible to establish and open this unique rehabilitation day care center.

Especially moving was the participation of two special women: Mrs. Zipporen, Mr. Pesach Zipporen's widow. Their most generous donation made it possible to buy the building, that has been named "Beit Zipporen" in their name. Also, Mrs. Reich, the widow of our beloved treasurer of blessed memory, Rabbi Aryeh Reich. The establishment of this rehabilitation center was his life's dream, and he pushed and encouraged us every step of the way; regrettably, we didn't merit to have him with us, on this special evening.
