Expert doctors' lectures for the public |

 "Sometimes, the fear of discovering a disease prevents many from making necessary tests that could help in early detection of diseases, while a late discovery might cost human lives."
These are the words of one of the greatest doctors, who is trying to encourage the public to make necessary tests, when there are indications for them.
When we face the patients, we come across the inherent meanings of this sentence, more than once. Therefore, we decided to act, not before consulting with the right people, to ensure that our actions would not cause panic.
To date, we had three instructive lectures by senior doctors who responded to our request and came to share with the public their extensive knowledge.
 Professor Nadir Arber, Director of the Intestinal Malignancies Unit at the Gastro-entrological Institute of the Sorasky Medical Center in Tel-Aviv (Ichilov Hospital) gave a fascinating talk, accompanied by a visual presentation that demonstrated the importance of making early tests for malignancies in the intestinal tract. At the end of the lecture, Professor Arber spent a long time answering questions from the audience.
 Professor Ehud Schwamenthal, Director of the Cardiac Patients Rehabilitation Institute at Tel Hashomer Hospital, gave 2 interesting lectures on preventing and coping with heart disease. He gave the audience some sound advice on what to do, to avoid becoming his patients.
The audience's active participation convinced us of the necessity of these lectures. We hope in future to advertise a further series of lectures on various topics that interest the public.
